About the Author

Gene Spiller, PhD, is director of the Health Research and Studies Center of the Sphera Foundation in Los Altos, Calif., where he performs clinical nutrition studies and nutrition book editing and writing. He is the author of Healthy Nuts, Eat Your Way to Better Health, The Cancer Survivor's Nutrition and Health Guide, and Calcium Power. Spiller is also a consultant to the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention.
Spiller holds doctorates from both the Universityof California at Berkeley and the Universityof Milan (Italy). A fellow of the American College of Nutrition, he is also certified through the organization as a nutrition specialist.
