Overview

An updated version of the inexpensive, concise, and life saving book about cat health and pet care. For cat owners, it will be an essential addition to their library. This book is not an inclusive treatise on all of the diseases and treatments of cats. Rather, it is a brief summary of the most common signs (problems), their likely meaning, and first aid for these problems. Quick and common sense solutions to cat health problems are discussed, and the reader is advised when professional help is needed. This book is also well illustrated, which helps in the recognition of the problems discussed. This approach saves lives.

About the Author

Dr. John Rossi is a small/exotic animal practitioner in Jacksonville, Florida. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany in 1977, he moved to Tampa, Florida where he received his Master’s in Zoology in 1981. Since his graduation from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986, he has treated a wide variety of animals, including many cats, and that experience is evident in this book. In addition to What’s Wrong with My Cat or Kitten?, he is the author of numerous papers and other books, including What’s Wrong with My Dog or Puppy?, What’s Wrong with My Ferret?, What’s Wrong with My Iguana?, and Snakes of the United States and Canada: Natural History and Care in Captivity. He is presently writing All Things Cold and Slimy, which is a fascinating and heartwarming story of what veterinary school is REALLY like.
