When It Rains
Charlie Hunter is unprepared for the consequences of the hasty,
life-altering decision she made... leaving her fiancé at the altar.
Appearing unscathed and any without explanation to her sisters,
Charlie moves on with her everyday life and completely immerses
herself into her aspirations of being a singer.

Her two sisters decide to stay with Charlie at her Rhode Island
beach cottage but each with different intentions. Iris, the
irresponsible party girl and youngest of the sisters, has as no
other place to go, while the eldest of the three, Catherine, guided
by obligational guilt and has a hidden agenda of her own.

Each had gone their separate way after their mother's death from
ALS six years before the wedding mishap. In that time, they rarely
spoke, never depending on each other for anything. Old wounds
and resentment shake what little thread that holds them together.

Tormented by the consequences of her decision, Charlie must
return to the past to move forward. But, that means facing her
darkest fears...that she too bears the family fate.

About the Author

Marjorie Spoto had aspirations to write since she was 5 years old telling stories to her younger sister to fall asleep. During high school typing classes, she used to write short stories instead of the typing exercises because it was the only access she had to a typewriter. Her third book, When It Rains, was published in 2004 which was loosely based on her experience of her mother 's passing from ALS. With the responsibilities of Motherhood and an advertising career, she put her novel writing aside, all the while penning outlines and screenplays in her spare time. Missing full-time writing, she recently prioritized her life to get pen back to paper and complete some of those treatments into novels. Marjorie Spoto currently resides in Key West and Upstate New York.
