Overview

Emanating from the inspiration and pen of Alean Saunders-Coffey, When the Heart Overflows: verses and vignettes/i> offers poignant themes of gratitude, compassion, justice, love, and peace. Woven throughout this assemblage of poems, essays, prayers, meditations, expressions from great writers, leaders, and teachers, are musings, recollections, and reflections composed with veracity and sensitivity. Trauma, injustice, and suffering are acknowledged; joy, pleasure, affection, and harmony are celebrated.

Using verses and vignettes, she invites readers to accompany her on a voyage that parallels life stages with the meteorological seasons. Thoughtful and refreshing writings encourage one to pause and reflect upon people, places, times, and events they encounter in each episode of life.

This introspective and heartening compendium offers a glimpse at a path everyone must travel. Words of comfort, inspiration, and encouragement are bestowed as companions for the journey.
