Overview

The Department of Justice has paid $4 billion in rewards to everyday citizens for reporting fraud against the government. The average reward is $1.5 million. This first of its kind book not only explains the main government reward program, but guides citizens step-by-step through the entire process from gathering information to filing an application and receiving a reward.

The author's website, www.HowToReportFraud.com, also provides updates and additional resources for helping you understand the process and file for a reward.
Rewards are available for fraud against any of the 20 federal agencies or under any government contract or program, such as Medicare, Medicaid or the military. The reward program is designed to pay up to 30 percent of what the government recovers to the person reporting the fraud against the federal government, whether it is Medicare fraud or someone cheating the military or any other program. One-half of the States have similar reward programs.

This book is filled with many illustrations, examples, and helpful checklists. At nearly every corner, the author shares an anecdote or insight to help you prepare a winning application or avoid common mistakes and pitfalls.
The author is a former U.S. Department of Justice Attorney who helped administer the government’s nationwide reward program for fifteen years. He shows you how to successfully navigate the system, fight fraud, and get the whistleblower reward you deserve. This book provides you with a rare, behind the scenes tour of this powerful government reward program.
