The last time Vivian McCormick had seen Lord Gregory Whiting, she had heartbreakingly broken off their budding love affair when she found out she was nothing but a summer fling for the millionaire aristocrat. Now 10 years later, she is forced to work with him in very close quarters on a dangerous undersea assignment near the Sargasso Sea. A voice with a clipped British accent sounds from a doorway. Vivian’s heart skips a beat and familiar shivers race down her spine.
“Hello, Vivian. I thought it must be you,” the man says casually.
“G-Gregory! What are you doing here?” Vivian stammers.
“Actually, I’m hiring you.”
“Won’t it be… a little uncomfortable? After all, we didn’t part on very good terms.
“Nonsense. That was ten years ago. But if you don’t think you can be a professional about this…” Greg’s expression is unreadable.
“It…it won’t bother me any more than it bothers you. Mr. Whiting—or rather, Lord Whiting,” she lies.
