Wildfire Kitty is a true story written after the Colorado wildfires of 2020 when the author's home was threatened by two separate wildfires. The story is inspired by a comment which supposed that in reality, Kit was probably unaware of any danger, enjoying the peace and quiet cats love best. Written in whimsical verse, this story shines a light on human fears that cause unnecessary suffering, illustrating that often our fears are only that and no more.
