About the Author

Dr. William A. Pelz is an academic historian who specializes in European and comparative labor history. His previous books include The Eugene V. Debs Reader: Socialism and Democracy (2014), Karl Marx: A World to Win (2012), Against Capitalism: The European Left on the March (2007); and The Spartkusbund and the German Working Class Movement (1988).
