Overview

Winter in the Bone is Edna Cadwell’s powerful second novel – an authentic story of early English history, set in the 14th century. For many years, a young noblewoman has hidden herself in the countryside.

When tragedy strikes, she must undertake an arduous journey to the heart of the kingdom. On her journey, she re-encounters people and experiences from her past, and must understand her place on Fortune’s Wheel. Her life takes on added significance as she discovers what happened to her people and her legacy. In the end, she finds the power to claim a new life in London, and a new place in history for her kin.
