Richard Evans, a young trouble-maker from the streets of Edinburgh suddenly finds himself attending a school of magick. When he is sent on a quest by his headmaster to find a magickal stone and return it he finds himself, and eleven of his friends, in trouble from the very beginning. Half his friends are lost by a freak accident and as the rest travel from world to world in search of the prize they fight against trolls, dragons and even an enemy from within. Using magick, his wits and with some help from unlikely allies it will take extreme perseverance and will power to finish his task. Can Richard complete his quest and return home without losing everything he holds dear, including his own life? .
