LINDA CADDICK, the daughter of a pioneering farmer in Zimbabwe, spent her school years confined to boarding hostels, but during the holidays wandered freely on the farm, where she developed a lively imagination and a love for nature. Strongly attracted to Cape Town, South Africa, she went to live there at the first opportunity. Her writing skills were developed during many years of producing descriptive editorial for a restaurant publication.
