This is a very informative book; though written in a style which would be comprehensible to a nonspecialist, there is a great deal of material presented here which will be new and interesting to any classicist. Greek is transliterated and not always translated, which gives an ambiguous message about the intended readership. The strength of the book lies in the impressive variety and extent of detail about Hellenistic women which is encompassed therein.
