About the Author

I was born on the slopes of Mt. Kenya, which is close to the part of the Equator in Kenya. My early education was mostly in rural Kenya as my father was posted to various parishes within the Presbyterian Church of East Africa. I was trained as an auto mechanic soon after high school and later trained as a technical teacher at KTTC, Kenya.
My family and I migrated to the USA in 1996 in search of higher education for my family. I joined Greenville Technical College in South Carolina and later transferred to Chattahoochee Technical Institute in Georgia from where I graduated in 1999 with an associate degree in applied technology.
I joined Johnson C. Smith Seminary-a constituent college of the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta Georgia in 2003. I graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2006.
During this intervening period, I had an encounter with an immigration saga that lasted twelve years. When told, the story sounds more like a fictional movie thriller than a true-life story. That’s for another day.
I was ordained as a minister of Word and Sacrament in 2015 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Atlanta Georgia.
I pursued a doctoral degree in Community Counseling from the School of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Argosy University in Sarasota Florida. I graduated with a Doctor of Education degree in 2013.
My passion has always been to explore the mystery of the human condition relative to our Creator, God. I am fascinated by how much traditions, beliefs, and culture continue to suffocate innovation, imagination, and creativity, all of which have denied large swaths of populations their God-imbued potentials.
My advocacy for emancipation from “mental slavery” of our people is beyond “cheap grace.” I believe Christ came to liberate the world from slavery of the mind where sinful thoughts reside. I will continue to have conversations with willing listeners and point them to “Free Will” that God promised not interfere with. This free will, I believe, is the freedom of choice.
