Overview

The concluding volume of the famed WWW Trilogy by Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author Robert J. Sawyer

The advent of Webmind — a vast consciousness that spontaneously emerged from the infrastructure of the World Wide Web — is changing everything. From curing cancer to easing international tensions, Webmind seems a boon to humanity.

But Colonel Peyton Hume, the Pentagon's top expert on artificial intelligence, is convinced Webmind is a threat. He turns to the hacker underground to help him bring Webmind down. But soon hackers start mysteriously vanishing. Is Webmind killing them before they can mount an attack?

Caitlin Decter — the once-blind sixteen-year-old math genius who discovered Webmind — desperately tries to protect her friend. Can this new world of wonder survive — or will everything, Webmind included, come crashing down?

"Wonder is not only a superb conclusion to a tremendous trilogy, but stands alone as one of the best books that Sawyer has ever written." —Winnipeg Free Press

"Wonder is a very satisfying conclusion to Sawyer's trilogy of tomorrow, or possibly just 20 minutes into the future. Read it now, before you're living through it." —SF Scope

"Not just an adventure story, Wonder is also (like its predecessors) a starting point for speculations on ethics and morality, the meaning of consciousness and conscience, and the place of intelligence in the cosmos. This is Robert J. Sawyer at his very best." —Analog Science Fiction & Fact

"Thought-provoking, often humorous, entertaining, and insightful, with pokes at social media and a clear look at many sides of a timely issue, this story should attract technophiles and general sf fans alike." —Library Journal

"A follow-up novel that surpasses the original. Strong characters; engrossing plot. What's interesting is not only all of the different components that Sawyer juggles simultaneously, but also that he is able to do so without dropping any one of them. A helluva fun read and an excellent science fiction book." —SF Signal

"Wonder is a worthy third and final chapter to this series. In Webmind, Sawyer has created perhaps the most well-realized artificial intelligence in science-fiction." —The Main Edge

"Wake, Watch, and Wonder are all must-reads for any fan of science fiction. Pop-culture references, a great sense of wit and humor, and shout-outs to the kings of science fiction, coupled with Sawyer's seamless timeline creates a quick-paced, enjoyable, and refreshing read." —CanCulture

"Verdict: The conclusion to one of the best SF trilogies of modern times." —Sci-Fi Bulletin
