About the Author

‘We don't see the world as it is, we see the world as we are…’ Markus was born and raised in a small Town near Stuttgart, Germany. Despite being bored with school, he attained a degree as an IT specialist and has been working as an IT security specialist for the past 18 years. He still uses his home town as a base, as he indulges in his passion for travelling the world. Some years ago, Markus owned a pub with some friends and when he gave it up he wrote a book called The Pub Quiz Bible, which contained some of the best questions from throughout the years, funny stories and how to create your own pub quizzes. This awakened a joy of writing in him and he is now working on a book series in the field of gift books. When Markus has time to relax he enjoys reading, boxing, obstacle course racing and loves trying out new whiskies. His main love is for travel however, and he enjoys meeting new people and making new friends wherever he goes. He has walked along the Great Wall of China, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, been arrested in Egypt and eaten a scorpion during his travels, but wherever he goes, it is coming home again and spending time with his family and girlfriend that are always the number one priority. In the future Markus hopes to be able to discover the rest of the world and continue to enjoy it, while meeting new people and writing a lot more books. He looks forward to the day when he will be able to show his own children the beauty of life and travel and hopes to die at the age of 100, with a smile on his face.
