Yankee Boy: An Open Pond Ghost Story
Yankee Boy is a tale of lost souls and dedication. Jacob Wilcott died of wounds received during the Battle of Marianna, Florida during the Civil War. A young man from Stow, Massachusetts, he died and was buried over a thousand miles from his home. His spirit lingers in the hopes that someone will help him get home. Sara Richardson is a teenager at the beginning of her high school years. Forced to move to a place she has no knowledge of, Ponce de Leon, Florida, she is angry and resentful. Soon she has obligated herself to do something that she has no idea how she is going to accomplish. Sara is soon considered "troubled" and is sent to see a psychiatrist. What follows is something no one expects, least of all, Sara, her closest friend, or her family. Yankee Boy takes on a life of its own when it embarks on a nationwide adventure. Ride along with the teens and, of course, the Yankee Boy.

About the Author

Jim Bovay and Rickie Wood-Bovee have been a team for over thirty years; first as acrobats in the circus and now authors. Jim has his own series of books, "Gadjo. an Odyssey and Rickie has several books in her Open Pond Ghost Stories series and this is their second collaboration for the ghost stories. Working together, they have developed a synergy that produces anything they set their minds to. They also have worked together in producing Victorian clothing. Rickie is a trained seamstress and she taught Jim to sew over thirty years ago so that they could work together. "We work well together," is their mantra and they will continue to work together as long as they can.
Now retired, they can devote much of their time to writing which they really enjoy. They are both members of the DeFuniak Springs Writers Group and enjoy the challenge of writing.
They both are interested in history and try to make sure that they works are historically correct.
Living in the south and with all of their travels with the circus, they are able to add a special quality to their writing.
