About the Author

Terrence McCarthy is the author of four books, including his essay collections, Road Work, Piece Work and Blood Work. He is also a regular commentator on National Public Radio's WHDD, Robin Hood Radio. An Air Force veteran, he has also been an award winning Hartford, Connecticut ad agency creative director newspaper reporter and columnist, and psychiatric counselor/human rights officer. His essays have been published in The Wall Street Journal, Charlotte Observer, Providence Journal, Hartford Courant and many other newspapers. A western Massachusetts native, he lives in North Carolina.
