About the Author

Thank you for your interest in my book. My name is Brian Gahran, author of Young Person’s Guide to Wisdom, Power and Life Success: Making Smart Choices, owner of Young Persons Press, and founder of YPGBlog.com. Please drop by my blog—I speak of things that matter to young persons who want to succeed. Learning life’s lessons the hard way, need not be the only way.

Professionally, I have been a software entrepreneur, nuclear submarine officer, geek physicist, chief flour engineer, burger flipper, and ski bum. I have a doctorate in Strategic Management from United States International University and an undergraduate degree in Physics from Florida Institute of Technology. I'm a proud member of Chi Phi fraternity and an Eagle Scout.

My area of interest is the crossroads of psychology and personal economics. That is, how we think affects our perceptions, our behavior, and our long-term well-being. Today’s young persons are looking for guidance from someone who knows them, their situation, and has traveled that way himself. That be me. Sure, I've got some tread wear, but I'm still a young person—at heart!

I wrote Young Person’s Guide to help you, ordinary Joe or Jane Youngperson, develop power over an unpredictable future. What matters most is opening your minds, exposing you to things you might not have considered, and getting you to think about the long-term consequences of your controllable decisions. None of us can predict the future—my aim is to prevent you from getting the future seriously wrong.

When opportunities arise, you'll find yourself much better prepared to succeed. So, stop whining and start winning by working towards the future you want to achieve.

Yes, you can. Yes, you will!

There you have it.
