About the Author

Donna Malvey, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Health Management and Informatics at the University of Central Florida. She received her MHSA degree from the George Washington University and completed an administrative residency and postgraduate fellowship in health systems at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. She earned her PhD in Administration-Health Services from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and received a national award from Sodexho Marriott for her dissertation research on medical group practices. Dr. Malvey also served as an adjunct associate professor of healthcare leadership at Brown University, where she taught in the Executive Healthcare Management and Leadership program.

Jessica Sapp, DrPH, is an associate professor in the School of Health Sciences at American Public University System. She has more than 15 years of experience in public health, working in government, hospital, health insurance, community, international, corporate, and academic settings. She earned her DrPH in Health Policy and Management at Georgia Southern University; her MPH in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior at the University of South Carolina; and her BS in Health Science Education at the University of Florida.
