About the Author

Steven E. Metze is the author of The Zombie Monologues, as well as numerous role-playing-game and miniatures war game rulebooks and sourcebooks, including Über RPG Steampunk and Undead States of America. He writes for All Things Writing, and is a member of Mensa and the Writer’s League of Texas. He graduated from West Point and continues to serve with over 22 years of military service, including 10 years as a military journalist, and also has an MFA in Film and Video production.

etze's book moves at a fast pace with well developed "dead" characters. The plot is definitely a twist on the traditional zombie tale, making them appear more sympathetic and their actions understandable. He introduces some new ideas that will keep the zombie huggers entertained, as well as, bringing in science theories that are fresh compared to the mass of zombie movies we've all seen of late.

All in all, it was a great read. It made me hungry, too. For brains....

Excellent combination of social satire and a take down of some of the hoariest old tropes in the zombie apocalypse genre. Ranges from laugh-out-loud funny to more subversive humor that sneaks up on you later. Highly recommended.

After the first ten minutes of reading, it dawned on me that I was finally reading a zombie story that was the first truly original concept in this genre I have seen since reading World War Z. There is a good story line, but really the most amusing parts of the book come in clever and often funny concepts that stand out like little gems. Some the of explanations of the action from the zombie point of view made me laugh out loud, then pause for a moment and admire the originality of the Author.
