Terry Goodkind

Terry Goodkind (1948-2020) was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where he also attended art school. He was the bestselling author of the 11 volume Sword of Truth series—beginning with Wizard's First Rule, the basis for the television show Legend of the Seeker—as well as the books The Law of Nines, Severed Souls and The Omen Machine.

Terry Goodkind was a fantasy and suspense writer with his most popular series being The Sword of Truth. Unlike other fantasy novels, he liked to focus on human emotion and philosophy throughout his works which connects readers deeply to the characters. His series The Sword of Truth contained 5 main arcs, The Nicci Chronicles, and The Children of D'Hara. It was also adapted into a television series called Legend of the Seeker in 2008. The books were not released in chronological order. In addition, he wrote two standalone novels; The Law of Nines, a contemporary suspense novel, and The Sky People.
