When people look out at the ocean, they see peace and beauty. For Macy, it's quite the opposite: all she sees is fear and pain. By the time Macy made it out of high school, she had lost both of her parents and gained guardianship of her little sister, Olivia. Determined to raise her sister while coping with the trauma she has endured, will Macy be able to float through the challenges in her adult life or will they cause her to drown?
