Death in Venice is a short story by German writer Thomas Mann, published in 1912. It tells the story of a noble writer who visits Venice and becomes liberated, inspired, and then increasingly obsessed by the sight of a boy from a family of Polish tourists - Tadzio, nicknamed Tadeusha.
