Special Onymic Grammar in Typological Perspective: Cross-Linguistic Data, Recurrent Patterns, Functional Explanations

For the first time, proper names are made the topic of a cross-linguistic account of morphosyntactic properties which formally distinguish place names, personal names, and common nouns.
