As famous for his notorious lifestyle as for his visceral books of poetry and prose, Charles Bukowski (1920-1994) mined his experiences on America's mean streets to become one of the 20th century's most influential and widely imitated writers. Bukowski wrote thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories, and six novels, eventually publishing more than 60 books.
