Description: This is an updated third edition of a comprehensive review for meeting ACLS standards.
Purpose: The purpose is to make the stressful topic of advanced cardiac life support easy to learn. The book covers all the essential topics of an ACLS course in a simple, logical approach that uses many visuals to increase learning.
Audience: All healthcare providers who need to take an ACLS course and are a bit uneasy about learning all they need to will find this book useful. The editor and authors specialize in their respective areas.
Features: All of the essentials and specifics of advanced cardiac life support are addressed in this updated edition. The book breaks down the information into easily learned components with numerous helpful visuals. Each chapter is followed by a quick quiz to further help master the material. The chapter on pharmacological agents is especially thorough. The one small shortcoming is a misidentified ECG strip for atrial flutter.
Assessment: Taking an ACLS course can be overwhelming and stressful, especially for new healthcare providers. This update of an ACLS review should allay any fears and make learning easier.
