Overview

This is a reissue of a 1971 album of kebyar gamelan groups from the palace at Peliatan and from a temple in Belaluan. The standard pieces are well-played, but one could wish for more of the explosive compositions unique to kebyar and less of the legong dance, which comes from another gamelan's repertoire and requires one of the most exciting kebyar instruments, the reyong (12 kettles, four players) to sit out. ~ Original Music
