Kora-player Sourakata Koite is one of a significant and largely ignored group of African musicians: those who work within what might reasonably be regarded as a classical tradition. Most of the compositions he plays here are his own, but he also presents both instrumentals and songs from Malian tradition, with a backup vocalist and two percussionists.
