Memoirs of Sharon Plichta: U.S. Army Nurse Corps
Memoirs of Sharon Plichta is the story of an Army nurse who served our wounded and dying troops in Vietnam. For her service, under enemy fire, Sharon Plichta was awarded the Bronze Star. It is her story of growing up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and after nurses training enlisting in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. She tells how she leaned on her faith in God during those difficult days as well as the joys she found in living the life of a military nurse. It is her goal, by sharing her experiences, that this part of history may not be forgotten by future generations. Included in this book is the history of other American wars and the outstanding nurses who served in those days, from the Revolutionary War to the longest war in Afghanistan. I am privileged to have been able to write this book and share Sharon's important story. N.W. Boyer

About the Author

N.W. Boyer is a Christian author: historical fiction, fiction, non-fiction, devotionals, selected blog writings and children’s books. She is an educator and short-term missionary to Mongolia, Guatemala and Ukraine. The wife of retired Navy Chaplain, William J. Boyer, they live in Florida with their Golden Retriever, Bella. Their four children are grown and out on their own. Her goal in writing is to inspire readers for a growth in personal faith and to share important parts of history that she believes must be preserved for our future generations.
The Author welcomes those who would like her to write about their family history and special events in their lives, especially our brave service men and women who have a story to tell. She believes this is a special honor for her to write their stories for them.
“If writing is not your strength, but you can share some experiences, I can write it for you. Time may be running out, so don’t put it off. You have one life and it is all yours! You need to share it with those who care and love you.”
