About the Author

Mary Dean Atwood, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and unabashed mystic who has lived primarily in Oklahoma, Arizona, and New Mexico. She combines an eastern/western blend of spiritual knowledge and meditative practices. She began her research into Native American herbs and rituals twenty-five years ago and developed the ability to see into "second physical", and interpret signs of nature. She was privileged to study with anthropologist Michael Harner, Ph.D. and Lakota Medicine Man, Gary Bear Heals. A few years later she began the study of Eastern religions and today meditates using Kriya Yoga which originated in the United States with Pramahansa Yogananda. She still uses Native American practices and is a natural health and "green planet" advocate.
