About the Author

Dr Alan Desmond is a Consultant Gastroenterologist based in Devon. Board Certified in both Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine, he completed his specialist training in Cork, Dublin and Oxford. He has published numerous research papers in leading medical journals.
A well-known figure in the gut health medical world, Dr Desmond also has excellent connections within the plant-based community - he appears on podcasts, the Plant-based News tv channel, works with BOSH! and runs gut health courses with Happy Pear. He has his own private practice, The Devon Gut Clinic.

Chef Bob Andrew is an accomplished chef whose formative experiences range from working in the vibrant restaurant scene in Brighton to living off-grid on an organic smallholding in Tasmania. He went on to become head chef at the renowned Riverford Field Kitchen, where he developed his passion for serving the best local and organic produce. He continues to work with Riverford, primarily as recipe developer for their famous veg boxes. He has worked with Dr Desmond in the clinical setting, developing healthy eating plans for patients with Crohn's disease.
